An interprofessional association of wine market specialists of the Republic of Armenia, the main goal of which is the development of wine culture within the country, the systematic study and promotion of the national heritage - Armenian winemaking.
Association of sommeliers and experts of Armenia
The association was founded in 2017 and brings together sommeliers, cavistes, wine experts and journalists, winemakers and teachers. The initiator of the creation of the Association is Arthur Sargsyan, a sommelier with 25 years of experience, founder of the Union of Sommeliers and Russian experts, founder of the Wine People sommelier school, author of wine guides in Russia, Armenia, Moldova. Since the establishment of ASEA, under the auspices of the Association, 4 “Armenian Wines” guides have been published, 4 wine salons on Armenian wines have been held, and a number of training events have been held in Moscow and the regions of Russia. Three editions of the publication have been translated into English, it is planned to issue a guide in three languages: Armenian, Russian and English. Consultations were also held with the international association of sommeliers ASI in order to prepare an application for Armenia to join the international professional organization. Working cooperation has been established with the Russian Sommelier Association and the Georgian Sommelier Association. ASEA's strategic partner is the Viticulture and Winemaking Foundation of Armenia.

For the first time in the history of wine in Armenia, we are opening a certified sommelier school. Professional training courses for sommeliers and cavists will operate under the auspices of the Association of Sommeliers and Experts of Armenia.
The goal of the project is to increase the prestige of the sommelier profession, to bring international-level specialists to the market, to promote continuous professional development, and most importantly, to develop and promote the wine culture in Armenia.

Goals and Objectives of the Association sommeliers and experts of Armenia
Strategic objective: Armenia's accession to ASI and organization of the International Sommelier Congress in Armenia.

Development of the Association, involvement of representatives of all regions in its activities;
Autonomy of the Association and the ability to protect the interests of its members at various levels;
Formation of professional knowledge and skills among members of the Association in accordance with international standards; promotion of continuous professional development;
Promoting the dissemination of professional knowledge and experience, openness to dialogue at all levels;
Establishment and international certification of the Sommelier School in Yerevan;
Launch of the certified course of the British school Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET);
Publishing activities aimed at popularization of Armenian wines;
Organization of professional sommelier and cavist competitions with a focus on winemaking in Armenia;
Development of wine culture in Armenia, holding training seminars, master classes, wine festivals;
Advising wineries, restaurants and retailers on the development of the Armenian wine range;
Interaction with professional associations, unions and associations of other countries.
